On this page, you’ll find an ever-changing list of my goals. Some are very unique to me. Some are pretty common to pretty much anybody who wants to lose weight and get healthier. As my weight drops, I’ll change my fitness goals, but I want to keep them small for now (i.e. – 10 pounds at a time) and I have no idea what my goal weight should be. Weight Watchers thinks it should be 180, but what if I look okay at 220?

Fitness Goals

  • Get below 370
  • Walk a 5K – done March 26, 2011
  • Run a 5K
  • Complete a pull-up, unassisted
  • Earn 2nd Degree Probationary Black Belt in taekwondo
  • Break 3” of wood with side kick
  • Break 1” of wood with twist kick
  • Complete ACE Personal Trainer Certification

Travel Goals

  • Visit all seven continents, including Antarctica
  • Visit all fifty states (See my progress here!)

  • Visit all fifty-seven US National Parks
  • Stay in a glass igloo to watch the Aurora Borealis at Hotel Kakslauttanen in Finland
  • Take an overnight ride on a train
  • Climb the stairs to the top of the Washington Monument
  • Climb the stairs to the top of the Eiffel Tower
  • Win $250 in Vegas

Personal Goals

  • Finish a novel (writing, not reading)
  • Find a church to join
  • Publish a short story

Unlikely Goals

  • Walk on the moon
  • Visit the Titanic in a submersible
  • Be a guest on a talk show
