The red-headed girl was happy to be in Angel Grove. The thought of seeing all of her old friends thrilled her, assuming they were still there. Of course, it was her fault for not knowing, she should've called them, but with everything that was going on back home it was virtually impossible.
She got out of her rental car and approached a phone book, looking to find the address of one of her friends so hopefully she could crash at their place.
Her first instinct was to look up the last name Heart. She got to the H's but found nothing listed under her old friend's name and phone number. She decided to look in ABC order to find someone, which made Cranston next, then Campbell. Unfortunately the results were much the same.
The next name she looked under she had pretty good luck. She found it under the D's, DeSantos to be specific. She ripped the page out of the phone book and climbed back into her car, heading for the direction of the DeSantos house.
"We have gotten no work done today, you do realize that don't you?", Carri Hillard asked the guy sitting next to her on his couch in his living room
"Yes we did. We... well... can I think on this and get back to you?", asked the guy, Rocky DeSantos
"Rocky!", exclaimed Carri
"Come on, we're not going to fail. It's not like we weren't given almost until the end of the school year to work on this.", Rocky told her
"But see, I actually had my mind set on doing this project. That doesn't happen very often.", Carri reminded him
"Like you won't be able to do it any other time.", Rocky told her
"I hope so. Now that we've wasted most of this day, what do you want to do?", she asked him
Rocky jumped up and headed to his room. "Be right back. I have this new CD you just have to listen to."
"Do you mind finding my CD while you're up there?", Carri asked
"If you don't mind waiting.", Rocky said
Carri watched Rocky disappear as he walked around back to the stairs, then reappeared upstairs in front of the railing and then into his room.
"Here's my CD. Now to find yours...", Rocky said letting his voice trail off
Carri watched as things came flying out of his room, some over the railing and into the floor.
"Watch were you throw that stuff!", she yelled up to him
"Sorry! You know, your CD could be anywhere.", he told her
"Great.", she replied
Ding dong!
"I'll get it.", Carri told Rocky as she went to open the door
The red headed girl who was standing on the doorstep looked shocked when Carri opened the door.
"I'm sorry, I must have the wrong house.", the girl said as she turned to leave
"Wait, I don't live here. If you're looking for one of the DeSantos', you've come to the right place.", Carri told her
"Oh, ok.", said the girl as she turned around
"Come on in.", said Carri as she opened the door more
Just as the girl walked through the door, an Nerf football came flying at them, just barely missing them. Carri picked it up and threw it back into Rocky's room
"Thanks.", Rocky yelled down
"If it didn't hit you, it wasn't worth my throwing it back up.", she joked. "Come on in, sit down on the couch. Make yourself at home."
Carri wondered back onto the couch and the stranger followed her. Carri sat on the left with the stranger on her right.
"Found it!", Rocky yelled as he came to the railing with two CD's in his hand. "Who was..."
Rocky had noticed the visitor and ran down to greet her.
"How are you! It's been so long since I've seen you!", he exclaimed as he made it to the bottom and walked to stand over the back of the couch
"I'm fine.", she told him
"That's good, glad to hear it. So, why...", Rocky started to ask a question but was interrupted by Carri's clearing her throat. "Oh, sorry, Carri this is Alexis Darling, Alexis, this is Carri Hillard."
"Nice to meet you.", Alexis Darling said
"Same here. So, how do you two know each other?", asked Carri
"We met through some mutual friends, but mainly through po...", Alexis started to speak but stopped and looked up at Rocky for a good cover
Rocky was confused for a second until he realized that Alexis didn't know that Carri was a ranger. Rocky took Carri's left hand, which she was sitting on, and yanked it up letting Alexis see the communicator.
"Really? Wow. So many changes since I've been gone... Anyway, I am the Purple Power Ranger because the coin was in my family.", Alexis told her
"Was.", Rocky corrected her
"Was? What are you talking about?", asked Alexis
"When was the last time you morphed?", he asked
"Morphed? It's been a long time.", she told him
"Well, around a year ago Lord Zedd and Rita came up with their most destructive plan ever. They destroyed our Power Coins, and the Morphin Grid. I'm no genius, obviously you have to second this with Zordon, but I'd go as far to say you're coin became dormant after everything that happened with the Morphin Grid.", Rocky told her
Carri clapped her hands. "Sounds like something Billy would come up with."
Rocky smiled. "Hey, I do have my try to sound like Billy moments."
"Just remember to check with Zordon.", Carri said, teasing Rocky
Alexis looked in deep thought. "Dormant? That would explain why I haven't been connected to the coin like I was when it was first charged. Maybe I can recharge it."
"Then you would have the same problem you originally had. There's no way to channel the power into the coin again.", Rocky told her
"Wow. So it looks like once again I'm in the I once was a power ranger club.", Alexis said sadly
"Don't worry about it. You're not the only one.", Rocky told her
"Yeah, I noticed Kim wasn't in the phonebook anymore.", Alexis said
"She went to Florida for the Pan Global games. Carri's cousin, Katherine Hillard, took her place.", Rocky told her
"I should've called to talk to you guys.", said Alexis
"Or beeped us.", Rocky said
"That was kind of impossible. My communicator was ruined. That's what I get for helping take care of Jonny.", Alexis said
Rocky smiled.
"So who else has left?", asked Alexis
"Billy left to go to Aquatar a few weeks ago to be with his girlfriend. Aisha left to go to Africa to help the animals, and the girl who took her place, Tanya, left to go sing in New York and that's where Carri came in.", Rocky told her
"So there's two new faces.", Alexis said as she looked at her watch. "Oh gosh, it's getting late, and I need to go find a hotel room. I was planning on staying with Kim but she's gone and I very well couldn't stay at your house, the last thing your mom needs is another kid here."
"You can stay at my house.", Carri offered
"Are you sure that's ok?", asked Alexis
"Yeah. As a matter of fact I'm thinking about putting a big neon sign in front of my house saying Former Rangers Stay Here. It would save me and Kat the trouble of asking.", Carri joked
"Who else has stayed there?", Alexis asked
"Kim did a while back. Tanya used to live there.", Carri said
"If she's staying there, you might as well leave, and get her settled in.", Rocky told them
"You're right. Come on, we'll go to my house. You can just follow me there. You know, I think Tommy and Kat are there now, wouldn't want to interrupt them. Oh well, they'll live. Besides, they're leaving to go on a date soon.", said Carri
"Tommy and Kat? You mean he and Kim broke up? That's horrible.", Alexis said
"They're still really close friends. Kim just didn't think the long distance thing was working out.", Rocky told Alexis
Carri got up and headed towards the door, and Alexis followed her.
"Bye.", said Carri as she opened the door
"What, no kiss goodbye?", joked Rocky
"If you come here to get it.", Carri told him
Rocky walked over to Carri and gave her a quick kiss. Then Carri and Alexis departed.
Carri and Alexis walked through the door and entered an empty house.
"I guess Kat and Tommy left already.", Carri pointed out as she shut the door behind them
"You sound surprised.", Alexis said
"Well, I figured they'd be here, but they must've known I was coming home.", Carri joked
"So, where am I staying?", asked Alexis
"Follow me.", Carri said as she led the way upstairs
Alexis followed Carri up the stairs. The first stop was in Carri's room so she could take off her coat and throw her keys somewhere.
"You can come in, just don't mind the mess.", Carri said
Alexis wandered into her room. The first thing she noticed as she looked around the room was the pictures on the wall. One of her and another girl in pink, Alexis assumed it was Kat. The other one was of Carri, Kat, and some girl she didn't know. There were two group shots, one had six people the other had seven (these pictures included Billy). There one of her and Rocky.
"So, how long have you two been going out?", asked Alexis
"Since August.", Carri told her
Alexis nodded her head as she came to a bulletin board with unframed pictures all over it. Some were group pictures, some were of two or three of them. She recognized the faces, Tommy, Rocky, Billy, and Adam. As she came across the third picture, she was shocked to see the face in it.
"How old is this picture?", she asked pointing to it
"I don't know, maybe a month or two old.", she told her
"You two look mighty cozy. Did you and Rocky break up for a while or something?", Alexis said trying to get is much info about the person with Carri in the picture as she could
Carri laughed at the though of being romantically involved with the guy in the picture. "That's Jason, he and I are good friends, nothing more."
"Jason? Jason Lee Scott?", asked Alexis although she knew the answer
"Yes, that's Jason. Do you know him?", asked Carri as she walked out of her room
Alexis stayed behind for a second looking at the pictures with Jason in them. Then she hurried out of the room, and picked up her suitcase from the floor outside of Carri's room, and followed her.
"Yeah, I know Jason. I met him right before he left for the peace conferences.", Alexis told her
"Really nice guy.", commented Carri as she pointed into a room
Alexis walked into the room, blushing as she though about Jason.
"You go ahead and get settled, I'm going to find something for dinner.", Carri told her
Jason's back in town. I don't believe it. Maybe I could get together with him. Denise would sure be shocked if I came back home with a new boyfriend, especially if that boy was Jason. Thought Alexis as she threw some clothes in drawers.
When Alexis finished unpacking her things, she hurried downstairs.
"I hope you don't mind pizza. We've all been so busy that we haven't had time to do any major grocery shopping in a while.", Carri apologized
"Pizza is fine.", said Alexis
"It will be a while before they get here, so we should sit down and watch TV or something. There's not much exciting to do at my house, we usually keep ourselves busy with attacks and other things of that nature.", Carri told her
"Thinks haven't changed much then.", Alexis said
The two went down and sat on the couch. But instead of watching TV, Alexis wanted to find out as much as she could about Jason.
"So, how long as Jason been in town.", asked Alexis
"Tommy brought him back about the time of first semester exams.", Carri told her
"Why did Tommy bring him back?", questioned Alexis
"Trey, the Gold Ranger, who is not from this planet, he's from Triforia, split into his three personalities and couldn't keep the Gold Ranger Powers. We had to transfer the powers before Mondo could get his hands on them. So, Jason came and took them.", explained Carri
"That's great, so Jason's a ranger again.", Alexis said
"He was a ranger. His body couldn't handle the Gold Ranger Powers. Right before Spring Break he weakened and he had to give the powers back to the Trey's after we united them.", Carri told her
"That's too bad. Well, everyone must have been thrilled to have Jason back, even if it was for a short while.", said Alexis
Carri smiled as she remembered some things that had happened right after Jason came back. "We weren't all happy. Rocky and Jason got off to a horrible start. Things did get better, and now Rocky doesn't mind him being back as much."
Alexis looked shocked at the idea that anyone wouldn't like having Jason around. "What was his problem?"
"Well, Rocky felt Jason was taking his place on the team. After all, Jason had his place, as second in command, as Tommy's best friend, before Rocky came in. Then Rocky became second in command to Tommy, and also took over the role as Tommy's best friend. Then Jason came back and Rocky thought that Jason was trying to take his place while he was still there.", Carri paused for a second to catch her breath. "Jason became second in command and he and Tommy picked it up right where they had left off. Then Adam and Billy wanted to hang with Jason all the time. And when he came Kat and I started hanging out with him, trying to get to know him. Well, mainly me. Kat was always so busy trying to watch Tommy, which is another story entirely. Anyway, Rocky thought that Jason was taking over his place as far as everything went, including with me. Which was so not true. Jason and Tommy may have been best friends again, but that didn't change Rocky's relationship with Tommy or anyone else. He was worried over it all, and I'm boring you aren't I because you are so not here. So sue me, I talk to much."
Alexis was there alright. She was absorbing every word Carri said, trying to picture how Jason looked and acted as the events went on.
"No, are you kidding me, I love hearing about what went on. Please tell me more. I want to be caught up with everything you know.", Alexis told her
"Everything? Ok, sit back, this may take a while.", Carri said as she begin to try and help Alexis catch up
"And anyway, they finally did get together, as you can tell.", Carri said finishing her last story as she grabbed a slice of pizza
Alexis finished chewing her slice before she talked. "That was a romance waiting to happen."
Alexis had listened to several stories, no more on Jason though, which in a way depressed her but she didn't mind because now she knew everything there was to know about what had been going on since she left.
As both girls reached for one more slice of pizza, Kat and Tommy came in.
"Well, that was short.", Carri greeted them
"Short? What are you talking about, we've been together all day.", her cousin, Katherine Hillard told her
Carri raised one eyebrow. "Oops, my bad."
Kat stared at the stranger on their couch.
"Oh, Kat this is Alexis Darling. She's going to stay here for a while.", Carri told her. "And I believe you already know Tommy."
"Tommy, hi.", Alexis said as she got up to give him a hug
"It's so good to see you." greeted Tommy Oliver
"Good to see you too.", said Alexis
"Who's Alexis?", Kat whispered into Carri's ear
"Former Purple Power Ranger. Don't worry, she didn't date Tommy.", Carri comforted because she knew that was coming next
"You know, things have changed a lot since you were last here.", Tommy told her
"I know, Carri and I have been down here talking for a while, and I think I'm all caught up.", Alexis said
"Carri told you? I hope she didn't talk your ear off.", teased Tommy
"She did, but it was worth it.", Alexis assured him
"Oh, well, in that case.", Tommy said. "Kat, I should be going. I'll call you tomorrow."
"Ok, bye.", said Kat as she went over and gave Tommy a kiss
"Bye.", Tommy said to the other two girls as he left
"So, Alexis, now that you know everything about all of us, let's hear a little about you.", Kat said
"No problem.", said Alexis as she and Kat sat down
"I've heard all this before. I'll be back, I'm going to get a soda.", said Carri as she left
Carri wondered into the kitchen just as the phone rang. Since she was right there, she went ahead and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Carri, hi, it's me.", the voice on the other end greeted
"Jase, hi, what's up?"
"Well, tomorrow is supposed to be a beautiful day and I was trying to see how many of us I could get on the beach.", Jason Lee Scott told her
"Hm... sounds good. Will Emily be there?"
"Kind of. She's working at the Ernie's Beach Club."
"Let me see what Kat says.", said Carri as she put one hand over the receiver. "Hey you guys, want to meet Jase at the beach tomorrow?"
Alexis perked up at the mention of Jason's name.
"Sure.", said Kat
"I'll be there.", Alexis said
"Ok, the three of us will be there.", Carri told Jason
"Three?"
"Me, Kat and a surprise guest who you'll find out who it is tomorrow."
"Ok, keep me in suspense."
"I will. What time do you want us out there?"
"One."
"Ok, see you then."
"Bye."
"Bye."
Carri and Jason both hung up. Carri grabbed her soda and went upstairs.
"I'll talk to you guys later. I'm going up to watch TV, or go on line, or something like that."
"Ok.", said Kat
Kat and Alexis went back to their talk, but Alexis couldn't help but let her thoughts drift off.
I'm going to go see Jason tomorrow. I haven't seen him in so long, this is going to be great. This will be my chance. I can't wait. Thought Alexis as she talked to Kat.
"Jason!", Carri yelled as she approached her friend
"Hey, so where is this mystery guest?", he asked
"She's coming with Kat, the were lagging behind. So tell me, who shall we expect to see here?", asked Carri
"Adam and Rocky are coming. They should be here any minute. Tommy is too, but he'll be late... Alexis!", yelled Jason as he waved at his old friend
Alexis came running towards Jason and they embraced in a hug.
"Jason, I'm glad to see you here.", Alexis said
"I'm surprised to see you here. What are you doing here?", asked Jason
"Oh, a little R & R. I had to get out of town for a while, and what a better place to come then Angel Grove California.", Alexis said
"Yes, where the cogs roam freely and and we're attacked almost everyday by some monster with some corny name.", Carri agreed
"Oh so true.", said Rocky as he approached the group
"Alexis!", yelled Adam Park as he made his way to the group
"Adam, hi.", said Alexis as she greeted him with a hug
"Come on, I've set up the court for volleyball.", Jason told them
They all followed Jason to the court. Jason grabbed the ball.
"Ok, how about we split up... Rocky, Carri and me verses the three of you.", Jason suggested
Everyone agreed, even Alexis, although she wanted to be on Jason's team.
The game quickly got underway. Jason's team had a slight advantage, mainly because they had Jason and Rocky for power and the other team only had Adam. They were having fun though, and that's what counted. At one point Carri and Jason both dived for a ball, and both missed, almost ending up on top of each other.
How lucky. And they don't even like each other. Boy I wish that was me. Thought Alexis
"Hey, come on you two, you can play better than that.", scolded Rocky
"I didn't see you diving for that ball.", Carri pointed out
"Well you can't avoid injuring your best player.", joked Rocky
"He's our best player?", whispered Jason
"Funny, I thought it was me.", said Carri
The ball that Adam had served looked to be coming right to Carri. Carri got ready to get it, but Rocky came up behind her, picked her up and moved her, so he could spike the ball.
"I told you I was better.", he said
Carri gave him a look as he walked past her. "I'm still better."
The game went on like that for a while, with a lot of yelling back and forth the net over who's team was better, a lot of playing around, especially between Rocky and Carri. About 45 minutes into the game Tommy showed up.
"Well, look who finally showed up.", joked Jason
"Sorry, I had other things to do.", Tommy told him
"No problem.", Jason said, "So, what team do you want to join?"
"Join us, give us the advantage.", Rocky said
"We need help, he can be the extra man over here.", Adam said
"How about I sit down and we don't worry about who gets the extra man.", suggested Carri
"Why?", asked Rocky
"I think I've played enough for the time being.", Carri said
"Ok, if you want too. How about we give you Alexis and we take Tommy.", Adam said
"Fine by me.", Alexis said
"Me too.", said Kat
"Ok then, come on over.", said Jason
Alexis went to join Jason's team and Tommy went to Adam's. Carri went over to sit for a minute, then she got up and left.
"Where's she going?", asked Rocky
"Who knows. Let's just play.", said Jason
And they did. They played volleyball and they managed to have a conversation too.
"Lex, how are things back home?", asked Adam
"Denise is ok for the time being. She's getting weaker, I can tell. She won't let it show. And she's doing really well with her work too.", Alexis told them
"That's always good to hear, that she's doing ok.", Jason said
"How long are you going to be here?", asked Tommy
"Just through Tuesday afternoon. Tomorrow is a teacher workday, at least it is for us..."
"Us too.", Rocky interrupted
"And I have a five o'clock flight for Tuesday afternoon.", Alexis finished
"Well, you know we all have to get together one night before you leave. Even though we're spending the day together, today wasn't really meant to be a welcome back an old friend get together.", Jason said
"How about tonight?", suggested Adam
"That's a problem. The one's of us who's girlfriends aren't on the east coast have dates tonight.", Tommy said
"Yeah man, how about Monday night?", asked Rocky
"I don't know how badly I want to do it on a Monday night. I was planning on working on a paper Monday night.", Adam said
"I agree with Adam.", Jason said
"I don't know, Kat, you're my girlfriend, what do you say? You can vote for all of you, do you mind if the dates get broken for a group evening?", Tommy asked
Kat did mind, but she didn't want to get into a fight with Tommy, which was what was going to happen. Emily and Carri would understand her logic. "No, not at all. A group evening might be fun."
"Then it's settled, a group evening for tonight.", Alexis said
"Since you're the guest of honor, what do you want to do?", asked Jason
"I'm not the right person to ask. You guys decide.", Alexis told them
"Are you sure you want to leave it up to us?", asked Rocky
"Positive. I trust your judgement. As long as Kat has some input."
"That's her way of saying she really doesn't trust our judgement.", Tommy pointed out
"I don't always trust your judgement. But as long as we don't spend the evening watching you guys spar or something stupid like that, I trust your judgement.", Kat told them
"Us, do something stupid? That's not in our nature.", Rocky assured her
Just as Rocky said that he and Jason ran into each other, both looking at the ball and not paying any attention where they were going. Both of them fell to the ground.
"You were saying?", Alexis asked
The group laughed as Jason and Rocky stood up, and for a second they gave the others a mean glare for laughing at them. Then, not being able to contain themselves any longer, they started laughing too.
"What do you want?", asked the waitress who approached Carri as she sat down at a table
"A soda will be fine.", Carri told her
"Be right back.", she said
The waitress got Carri's drink then returned, setting the drink down then having a seat next to Carri.
"I thought everyone was out with Jason. Why are you here?", asked the waitress, who was Jason's girlfriend Emily
"The teams were uneven so I left for a while. And what are you doing sitting here?", Carri asked
"Take a look around you. We're not very busy at the moment. But as the afternoon goes on, we'll get more customers. So I guess Tommy hasn't shown up yet.", Emily told her
"No, Tommy's there, but so is someone else, a new girl, her name's Alexis. She used to live in Angel Grove.", Carri said
"I guess she came before you if your not into hanging with her.", Emily said
"Before me, and Kat. The only one's who know her are the boys."
"So I suppose she's out there stealing everyone's boyfriends as we speak.", joked Emily
"No, she says she was never romantically interested in any of them. Besides, I left Kat to keep an eye on our guys for us."
"Come on, you know Kat. She won't say anything. She's not the type to go after somebody she doesn't know, especially if it's for someone else's man and especially if it would make Tommy mad."
"I think you're wrong. She would for our guys. But you are right where Tommy is concerned, she wouldn't do anything to shake up their relationship."
"See there. You need to get back out there, keep an eye on that Alexis girl."
"I'll go back out there later. Anyway, I don't think you have to worry about Alexis going after Jason and I know she won't go after Rocky, she knows I'd kill her."
"And after you were done I would too just because nobody steals my friends boyfriends and then if she went after Jason...", Emily's voice trailed off as she made a face which would make anybody walk the other way
Carri laughed. "She seems really nice. I don't think we have to worry about any of that."
"You're probably right. But I won't be completely convinced until I meet her."
"I totally see where you're coming from."
"Hey waitress, could I get a refill?", some guy yelled from another table
"Coming.", Emily yelled back, "I'll be right back."
Emily got up and left Carri sitting there sipping her soda.

"Have you guys gotten beaten badly enough yet?", asked Tommy
"We won't give up. Tommy, you could go away. We were winning before you came.", Rocky said
"And just leave my team like that? No way.", Tommy said as he served the ball
The ball flew over the net. Alexis bumped it, Rocky set it, and Jason spiked it, right to Tommy. Tommy spiked it right back and it landed between Rocky and Jason.
"Ok, we need a break.", said Jason as he walked off the court
"Oh so true.", Rocky agreed as he followed
"Chickening out already?", asked Tommy
"They're right, we've been at this since one.", Adam told Tommy
"Oops, I forgot about that.", Tommy said as the last four players left the court
As each one of them was getting water from the water bottles that Jason had brought, Carri approached the group.
"Hey, where did you run off to?", Rocky asked
"I was chatting with Emily.", Carri told him
"What's she up to?", asked Jason
"Serving the customers, doing her job.", Carri replied
"Yet she had time to talk to you.", Tommy said
"I'm important. Besides, there weren't many people there.", said Carri
Rocky was taking a big gulp of water when he remembered the sudden change of plans for the evening.
"Carri, come over here for a second.", Rocky said
Carri walked over to Rocky and the two of them stepped away from the group for a moment.
"What's up?", asked Carri
"It's about our date tonight.", Rocky told her
"What about it?"
"Well, Alexis is only going to be in town until Tuesday afternoon, and we decided to do something as a group tonight, instead of tomorrow night, which means we'll have to put the date off until next weekend."
Rocky was hoping Carri would jump at the chance for a fun group evening. Instead Carri surprised him by exploding.
"What do you mean next weekend! We planned this back at the beginning of the week, and it was supposed to be our night. You know a two person date. We spent the last three weekends doing group stuff. And what happened to running this by me? You don't make my decisions for me. No way, count me out, I hope you guys have fun together."
And with that Carri walked off, heading back towards the Beach Club.
The others didn't know what went on, but by the looks of things it wasn't good. The could tell she was yelling, and by the look on her face she wasn't very happy at all.
Rocky approached the group with a rather confused look on his face.
"I take it she didn't like the idea of a group evening.", Tommy said
"Didn't like it? She hated it. She's pissed off with me right now for even suggesting it. I guess she's right, this was supposed to be our first real date in a while.", Rocky told them
"Sounds like you've gotten yourself in deep. That's ok, we'll all go out tonight, and I'm sure by tomorrow she'll be back to talking to you.", Adam said
"If you want I can go talk to her.", Jason suggested
"If you think it will help, but I'd wait a minute because she's likely to bite your head off right now.", Rocky said
"I feel horrible. If you two break up because you wanted to spend time with me...", Alexis said letting her voice trail off
"Don't worry about it, I'm sure she'll be ok later.", Kat promised
Carri walked into the Beach Club and flung back a chair then sat in it. She crossed her legs and was tapping the foot in the air that she had crossed.
I can't believe him. What's wrong with Monday night for a group get together. I hope for his sake he doesn't come over here right now... in fact if he never came over her I might be happy. And I can't believe he thought that I would be ok with it. And I'm sure Kat didn't take a stand in the date breaking affair.
Emily noticed her friend come in, and she was as angry as she had ever seen her. Emily went and took a seat beside her.
"What's wrong?", asked Emily
"Wrong? While I was here, the six of them decided to make a group evening out of tonight because Alexis is here. This breaks you date, Kat's date, and mine and Rocky's first real date in almost three weeks. Did he ask me first? No, of course not. And of course Kat didn't say a thing, you know she can't afford to ruin her relationship even if she would've been right.", Carri told her
"Wait a minute, Jason's breaking our date so we can go out is a group? When was he going to run this by me?"
"Well, I'm not going. Rocky will be there, and I'm mad at him right now, and then Tommy and Kat will be there as a couple, acting all fine and dandy."
"I'm with you on that one."
"I've got an idea, let's make it a girls night. We'll get movies and popcorn and junk food."
"I like that. What time?"
"When do you get off?"
"Three."
Both girls turned to look at the clock.
"That's in twenty minutes.", Emily said
"Then we'll go then."
"We'll have our own fun, who needs the guys."
"Exactly."
Jason came over to talk to Carri, and try to get her to come with them.
"Carri, hey, could we talk?", asked Jason
"You! I can't believe you!", Emily yelled at him as she stood up
"I take it you two have talked.", Jason said
"When were you going to inform me of this?", asked Emily
"I was going to tell you...", Jason started
"Forget it. Just get out of here. And we don't want to see you or anybody else around here, which means all your friends better just stay away.", Emily told him
"Yeah.", agreed Carri
Jason left the Beach Club really upset. Part of him couldn't believe Emily and Carri didn't understand and part of him felt bad for the girls.
I wonder why Kat didn't react this way. Jason thought as he walked on down the beach
Emily sat back down right after Jason left.
"I still can't figure out why they thought that we would happily go along with whatever they said.", Carri complained
"I'll bet it was that new girl... oh what's her name... Alexis, yeah that's it. She wanted to do it so she would break me and you up with our boyfriends. Maybe even Kat, but she probably didn't know that Kat was too into Tommy. And now she's going out with my boyfriend, your boyfriend, and Adam... what was his girlfriend's name? Oh yeah, Tanya. Tanya can't even be around to say anything."
"Come on, you don't think that Alexis planned it like that?"
"I told you not to leave her there. I mean, there's something about that name I don't like."
"Maybe your right. I don't know. All I know is I am so mad right now I can't even think straight."
Emily nodded her head in agreement as she left Carri sitting there while she went to tend to the customers.
"Well?", asked Rocky
"Looks like it's going to be the six of us. In fact, at this moment I'd go as far as to say we had better start looking for Carri's replacement because neither she nor Emily is talking to any of us.", Jason told him
"Aw man, if I got you in trouble too by letting you go after her...", Rocky started
"Don't worry about it, it would've happened as soon as I told her anyway. Where did the girls go?", asked Jason
"They went off somewhere. We're meeting them at the Youth Center at five, which means we've got two hours to plan what we're going to do.", Tommy told him
"In that case, let's get going.", Jason said
"....and I need to talk to you, come on pick up, please.", said the voice on the machine before hanging up
"That's his fourth message already, you would think he would get the point that I'm not picking up.", Carri said
It was about 4:45. Kat and Alexis had come home and they were upstairs getting ready to go back out and meet the boys. Carri and Emily were watching their first movie. They were sitting on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn between them, and some sodas on the table.
"See, I like this movie. Romeo doesn't let anything stop him from being with his woman like he promised, even though he did kill someone.", Emily said
"This was the movie Rocky and I saw on our first date. He should've picked up a few pointers from Romeo.", Carri told her
"Who needs guys, we're having our own fun without them.", said Emily
"I hope they have a crappy time tonight. That will teach them to make decisions without us.", Carri said
"Really crappy.", Emily added
Just then Kat and Alexis walked downstairs and headed out the door.
"See you guys later.", Kat said hoping to get some sort of response from one of them
Emily and Carri started towards the TV without even acknowledging they were there.
"You know what makes me even more mad?", asked Carri
"Besides the guys?", Emily asked
"People who think their opinion represents the opinion of the whole group.", Carri told her
Kat looked hurt at that comment, and she and Alexis quickly left because Kat was afraid she would break down in front of them.
"I'm really sorry. I never meant to cause any problems between you and Carri or that girl, whoever she is.", Alexis apologized as they got outside
Kat made no comment, she stayed deep in her own thoughts, as they both got into Kat's car and left.
When the girls got to the Youth Center, they found Jason and Rocky sitting at some of the stools, both consumed in their own thoughts.
"Why won't she pick up?", Rocky wondered aloud
"She and Emily are sitting at my house watching movies and talking about how much they hate all of us.", Kat told him
"Emily's there too?", Jason asked
"Are we ready to go?", asked Tommy
"Hang on a sec.", Rocky said as he picked up the phone and tried Carri's number one last time
"Carri, it's me, again, I know you're there, please pick up...", Rocky didn't know what else to say so he started to hang up the phone only to have it be grabbed by Jason
"We screwed up, we're sorry, we should've asked first, come on, talk to us.", Jason pleaded but got no response as he hung up the phone
Rocky tapped his foot on the floor for a second then got up and headed for the door.
"Where you going?", asked Adam
"To try and save my relationship.", Rocky told him
"Wait, you might want this.", Kat said as she took her house key off the key ring and threw it to Rocky. "She won't willingly let you in."
"Thanks.", Rocky said as he left
"I guess we'll go on.", Tommy said as the rest of them headed for the door
"Without me. I'm with Rocky, I'm not going to let my relationship get screwed because I didn't think about what Emily would've thought.", Jason said
"Who's Emily?", asked Alexis
"His girlfriend, the other one on my couch.", Kat told her
"Girlfriend?", questioned Alexis Oh great, I didn't know he had a girlfriend. I'll bet she thinks I was going after her man. Now I feel horrible.
"Kat, do you mind if use your deck?", asked Jason
"Sure, but why...", Kat started but was cut off
"My apology to Emily.", Jason said as he left
"Guys, there's no point in going now. Jason, Rocky, Carri and Emily won't be here. We might as well go tomorrow night. I can try to squeeze in my paper tomorrow morning.", Adam said
"You're right. Come on Kat, let's go ahead and go on that date.", Tommy said as he led her off
"I'm going to go to the Power Chamber. Now seems like a good time to have a talk with Zordon.", Alexis said
"I'll join you. I don't have anything else to do.", Adam told her
The remaining two people walked to the usual teleporting corner and left.
"Alexis, it's good to see you back in Angel Grove.", Alpha greeted
"Thanks. I wish I could say this was a social visit, but I was actually coming to ask about my power coin.", Alexis told them
"HAVE YOU BEEN MADE AWARE THAT THE MORPHING GRID DOES NOT EXIST?", asked Zordon
"Rocky told me. He also told me that my coin may be dormant.", Alexis said
"THERE IS THAT POSSIBILITY. LET ALPHA SCAN IT.", Zordon said
Alexis took her coin out of her pocked and gave it to Alpha. Alpha ran a few tests on it and came up with a quick conclusion.
"I'm sorry Alexis, but your coin is once again powerless.", Alpha told her as he gave her back the coin
"If I recharge it, is there anyway I could use it with your new power system, just like I did with the morphing grid?", Alexis asked
"I AM AFRAID THERE IS NO WAY TO GIVE YOU THE POWERS BACK NOW THAT WE DO NOT USE THE COINS ANYMORE.", Zordon told her
"We use the Zeo crystals. There are five of them, and five of us. Each crystal contains enough power to power one Zeo Ranger.", Adam explained
"Well, thanks for helping me. I guess these are my final goodbyes, now that my services are no longer needed.", Alexis said
"YOU WERE A VALUABLE MEMBER OF THE TEAM. MY ONLY REGRET IS THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO MAKE YOU A RANGER NOW.", Zordon told her
"That's ok. I guess it's better that I'm not a ranger now so I can concentrate more on helping out at home.", Alexis said as she gave Alpha back the coin
Alpha gave it right back to her. "This is your coin Alexis, we cannot accept it."
"Thanks.", Alexis said
"So, you want to go make the most of tonight and go see a movie?", asked Adam
"Sure.", Alexis agreed
Alpha walked over to the console to teleport them there. "Goodbye Alexis."
"AND MAY THE POWER PROTECT YOU.", Zordon added as Alpha teleported the teens away, Alexis for the last time ever
It was almost six, and the girls were about a third of the way through their second movie.
"So, what was your big date?", asked Emily
"We had reservations at that fancy new restaurant, you know, the one downtown... I can't think of the name if it right now.", Carri told her
"The French place?"
"Are you kidding me? Not only is that restaurant fancy, but it's rather expensive too. No, I'm talking about the fancy one where the prices are closer to something we can afford."
"Oh, I know what you're talking about. How did you ever get a reservation? I know people who have called and have been told they had to wait three weeks until they could go."
"That's what surprises me the most. We called on Tuesday and asked when we could make a reservation, and they said Sunday. So we jumped a the chance. We were going to eat, then take it from there. What about you?"
"Jason was actually going to cook a full meal, and it was supposed to be romantic and everything. Then we were going to go down to the beach, just to sit, it's beautiful down there when the moon is glistening off the ocean."
"Jason, cook? That's something special in itself."
"I know, that was what interested me the most. Oh well, no more special dates. Here we are, watching movies."
"But it's better than having to face everyone. I would've started a fight with Rocky, then it would've spread to include everyone... things would've gotten messy."
"I would've taken out my anger on Alexis, after I was done yelling at Jason of course."
Carri smiled and they went back to watching their movie. A few seconds later, they heard the door open and to their surprise, Rocky came through it and he was dressed very nicely.
"What are you doing here? And you're wearing a suit, how nice. What is the group doing, using our reservations?", asked Carri
Rocky walked over to Carri, who wasn't even paying him the least bit of attention.
"I came to apologize.", Rocky told her as he took something from behind his back. "This is for you."
Carri took what he had and noticed that it was a single red rose. She took it and held it in her lap, still not paying much attention to Rocky.
"I'm not going with the group tonight. I was kind of hoping you would be willing to come with me to the restaurant, we have a half an hour before our reservation.", Rocky told her
Carri stared at the TV for a few more seconds before looking up at Rocky. "I don't know. You've really made me mad, changing plans and not telling me, not caring what I thought."
"Let me make it up to you. Please.", Rocky begged
Carri sat there in thought for a moment. Then she got up and went upstairs.
"I'll be down in a few minutes.", she said as she went to change
Rocky wondered around the living room, being careful to avoid talking to Emily, who was now even madder that her boyfriend hadn't bothered to show up and apologize.
Carri took almost ten minutes to get dressed, then she came back down in a nice looking dress, which was a soft yellow color.
"Are you ready?", Rocky asked
Carri nodded her head yes, as she and Rocky turned to leave.
"You're welcome to stay here and finish watching the movies if you want.", she said to Emily
"Thanks.", Emily said as they left
Rocky and Carri were sitting across from each other at a table, each drinking their drinks out of their wine glasses.
"Wine glasses. Do they not have any regular glasses? With all of the teenaged couples who come in here you would think they would.", Rocky commented
Carri smiled. That was probably the first thing either one of them had said since they had left Carri's house. For the next few minutes, there was awkward silence, something that neither one of them were used to. Carri was sitting with her hands together and in the middle of the table. Rocky reached out and put his hands on top of hers.
"Look, I'm sorry I didn't ask you what you thought. I told you what we were doing, without letting you have any say in it. That was wrong of me.", Rocky apologized
"If you had asked instead of told, I wouldn't have blown up.", Carri told him
"You had every right to blow up at me. I would've blown up at me.", Rocky told her
"If our date had been anything other than these reservations, I wouldn't have minded putting it of until tomorrow, or even next weekend. But most people go through hell trying to get here within a month."
"To be quite honest, I completely forgot about the reservations. If it had crossed my mind, I would've told them to put it off."
Carri threw her hands up in the air then put them back on the table. "If it had crossed your mind, none of this would've been necessary. Once again, your stupidity has shown through.", Carri joked
Rocky smiled. "Well, you're back to the jokes. I take it you forgive me?"
"You really ticked me off, but I guess I could've reacted better, I shouldn't have blown up, I should've just talked to you calmly first... yes, I forgive you."
"Anybody in your shoes would've reacted the same. I mean, look at Emily. Which reminds me, what about Kat? She didn't blow up at Tommy."
"Kat and Tommy... that's another story. Kat is so afraid to get into a fight with Tommy, or to do anything to slightly shake up the relationship, she's afraid she'll lose him."
"But she and Tommy are so cute together, why would she think that?"
"Between you and me, I think she thinks that if she doesn't live up to be as great of a girlfriend as Kim, she'll lose him."
"That's crazy. Tommy loves Kat for Kat. He doesn't expect her to be like Kim."
Carri sighed. "You and I both know that, but I'm not sure if Kat knows it. Besides, Kat has been through a lot. She loves Tommy and doesn't want to lose him."
Rocky just nodded his head as the waiter approached them and asked for their order.
It was about 7:00, and Emily was still sitting on the Hillard's couch watching movies, and she was as mad as she's ever been. And it didn't help that Rocky had come by to patch things up. While she was sitting there watching TV, the door opened and Jason came through.
"Well, look who's here. What did you get bored with the group outing?", asked Emily
"No, I would've come with Rocky but I've been busy.", Jason told her
"Doing what?"
"If you come with me, I'll show you."
Emily reluctantly stood up and went over to Jason. Jason put his hand over her eyes and led her through the kitchen, and out the back onto the deck. He took his hands off her eyes, and Emily saw that the Hillard's porch table had a tablecloth on it and it was set for two, with two candles in the middle.
"Do you like it?", asked Jason
Emily just stood there looking at it as Jason led her to the seat. Jason pulled the seat back and Emily sat in it. Then Jason went and poured drinks and got the food. After he was finished, he sat down across from Emily.
"This is nice. And I'm guessing you cooked this?"
"Yes I did. All for you.", Jason told her
Emily took a bite of her food. "Tastes good."
"Emily, I'm sorry I didn't ask you before breaking our date. It's just I thought that you wouldn't mind if Kat didn't mind, and I guess that was bad thinking on my part. I promise I won't change plans on you ever again without asking you first."
"Why did you assume that my thoughts were the same as Kat's?"
"Well, you know, you girls usually think alike so I figured why would Kat do something that you totally despised."
"I may be friends with Kat, but that doesn't make me exactly like Kat."
"I realize that now. And I'm sorry I didn't talk to you first."
"I should've talked to you before I jumped down your throat."
"You don't need to apologize. You did what a lot of people would've done."
"True."
"So, am I forgiven or are you going to kill me?"
Emily scooted around the table and got in Jason's face. "This time yes, but trust me, Jason Lee Scott, if you ever do that again, you're dead."
Then Emily leaned in and gave Jason a kiss.
Adam and Alexis wondered into the cafe after they had gotten back from the movies. They sat at a booth by the window and gave a waitress their orders.
"Well, that was an interesting movie.", Alexis said
"I liked it. But then again, I like almost all movies.", Adam told her
"You know, you shouldn't have been here tonight, you should've been at home doing your paper.", Alexis told him as she pointed her finger at him
"I'm waiting for an e-mail from a college that's got some information in it I need for my paper, and it won't be in until late tonight. I'll do it tomorrow, I just need to get it done before I go play soccer."
"Soccer? I thought your were playing baseball."
"I am, in fact I'm on the school baseball team. But there's a rec soccer league, and I promised I'd lend a helping hand."
"Sounds like fun. So, what do you think is going on with our two couples?"
"They've probably made up already and have left the eating and gone onto bigger and better things."
"I hope so. I don't want to feel responsible for breaking them up."
The waitress then returned with their food and they started eating.
"When we were on the beach, Tommy mentioned something about the ones with girlfriends on the west coast. What was that about?", asked Alexis
"My girlfriend, Tanya Sloan... have you heard of her?"
"I know that Carri took her place and that she's in New York singing."
"Yeah, she has a great voice. I have never heard anyone more talented than her. She got an awesome record deal and moved to the east coast."
"Too bad."
"I'm proud of her."
"That's good. How did you two hook up?"
"Well, when she came here from Africa she didn't know how to fight, so I taught her and one thing led to another... before we knew it we were a couple. What about you, have you been seeing anybody?"
"I went out with a guy, Paul, for about two months. But it didn't work out. Other than him I've been on a few dates here and there, nothing too serious."
"That's too bad."
"Don't feel sorry for me. I don't mind. In fact, I enjoy nothing serious. I'm not ready for a serious relationship."
"Well, as long as you're happy."
"And believe me, I am. The only thing that could be better than my life now would be living it here."
Adam and Alexis quickly finished their meals.
"Ready to go?", asked Adam
Alexis stood up. "Yes I am."
Alexis and Adam each threw a few dollar bills on the table to pay for the food and tip then left.
Kat had come back from her date with Tommy and collapsed on the couch, after she had gone back to the deck only to find the plates that Jason and Emily had left. Kat's mind wasn't on her date that night, nor was it on the movie she was watching that was in the VCR. She was thinking about what her cousin had said to her before she had left.
As Kat was staring at the TV, Carri walked in. She shut the door and walked up beside the couch.
"Oh boy. Where do I start. Don't think I didn't notice how hurt you were when you left earlier.", Carri started
Kat pretended to stare at the TV, only because she didn't want to look over at her cousin.
"Look, I know how much Tommy means to you, and I understand why you broke your date for him. And it wasn't your fault that the guys weren't thinking and didn't realize that it made more sense to ask us before changing all our plans. I was mad and I took it out on you, on Alexis, when I didn't need to."
After Carri's apology was over, Kat looked up at her. "So I take it you and Rocky are back together?"
"Why else do you think that it's close to nine and I'm just getting back from a six thirty dinner date which by the way it only took an hour to eat."
"Oh really, what did you do after that?"
"That's between me and him."
Kat and Carri giggled, and that's when they realized they were both back on good terms. Just then Adam and Alexis walked through the door. Alexis went and took a seat on the couch, and Adam dragged Carri into the kitchen to see what was going on.
"Well, it looks like everyone is back together.", Kat told her
"Really? That's good. I'm glad to hear it.", Alexis said, even though part of her hoped Jason and Emily would break up so she'd get a chance. But she had her chance once, and she didn't do anything about it.
"Everything is back to normal now. Carri and Rocky, Jason and Emily, you know you still haven't met Emily. That's what we'll have to do tomorrow. I think she's working over at the Youth Center."
"I'd like to meet Emily. That sounds like a good idea."
"So, what did you and Adam do?" ,P> "Went to a movie then went and got something to eat. Nothing interesting. I went to talk to Zordon with him too."
"What did Zordon say?"
"He confirmed everything that Rocky had been telling me. He said my days as a ranger are over."
"That's too bad. Another ranger on the battlefield would've helped."
"Maybe one day I'll get to be a ranger again.", Alexis said wishfully
"Me too. But we're back on schedule on Wednesday. I'm surprised it's not tomorrow, but that's a plus for us.", Adam agreed with something Carri had said as they walked out of the kitchen
"One little plus.", Carri said as she opened the door for Adam
"See ya.", Adam said to all three of them as he left
Carri shut the door then walked over to Alexis and Kat.
"Well, I'm going to take a shower. I'll chat with you guys later.", Kat said as she went upstairs
Carri took a seat beside Alexis. "Now I need to apologize to you. Emily and I went overboard and placed a third of the blame on you, when you had nothing to do with anything."
"Don't worry about it. You guys were angry, and that's what happened.", Alexis told her
"I'm glad you understand."
"It's not like you actually said anything to me."
"No, but we said enough behind your back.", Carri admitted, "But don't worry. We said a lot of things behind backs tonight that we need to take back."
"Well, I'm going to meet Emily tomorrow and we'll talk then."
"That's good, I'm sure she'll want to meet you then apologize too."
"You know, there's too many apologizes going around here."
"True. But we all but got into a fist fight, which warrants apologies."
Alexis nodded her head in agreement.
"You know, this day has all together sucked. Not only was everyone in a fight for half of it, but I found out that my coin is useless and that the guy I always had a crush on has a girlfriend.", Alexis complained
Carri smiled. "Let me guess, Jason right?"
Alexis looked kind of shocked. "How did you know?"
"I suspected it from the beginning, when your game of twenty questions mainly involved Jason. And then the look on you face when I said that Rocky and Jase went at it when he first came back, it kind of gave it away."
"Why didn't you say anything if you knew?"
"Because I wasn't sure. Besides, if I had known before I would've told Emily and she would've killed you."
"Jason was my friend and then before we both left we started to click a little more, then I thought it could develop into something, but he was in another country, and so I let it drop. Then I came back and found he was here, well, I was kind of hoping we could get together now."
"But Jason has Emily and that kind of ruined that."
"Yeah, and it's too bad for me. But Jason's happy and that's all that counts."
"Are you happy?"
"No. I want a boyfriend, and right about now I'd settle for anybody."
"Well, I hear Bulk and Skull are still available."
Alexis looked shocked. "I do have standards you know."
Carri and Alexis both laughed at that. As they were sitting there talking the door opened and made both of them jump. To their surprise, Jason was the one that came through.
"How did you get in?", asked Carri
"I got this key from Rocky who got it from Kat. Here.", Jason said throwing it at Carri
Carri stuck it in her pocket. "Why are you here?"
"I came to collect my stuff from your porch.", he told her
"Oh. So, how did it go?", Carri asked
"Fine.", Jason said
"Come here, sit down, I want details.", Carri ordered
"Am I going to get any details from you?", asked Jason
"Sure.", Carri said as she motioned for him to come sit down
"Do you mind if we go outside and talk? I really need to clean up back there.", Jason told her
"No I don't.", Carri said as she got up
Jason and Carri went to clean up and chat leaving Alexis in her thoughts.
Maybe if I hadn't left, if he hadn't left, things would be different. But he did leave, and now he's back with a girlfriend. Maybe it's for the best. Long distance relationships never work. Besides, he never knew how I felt about him, and who says if I told him we would be going out. And who says he ever felt the same way about me. Yes, this is the best thing for both of us.
Alexis sat there for a while before heading upstairs to try and get a good nights sleep.

"Watch this Oliver.", Rocky said as he unleashed something he had been practicing for a while
Rocky knocked Tommy off balance. "Nice moves. Where did you learn them?", he asked
"You want me to tell you? And ruin my advantage?", asked Rocky
"Ok, I see how you're going to be.", Tommy said as he and Rocky both exchanged some punches
Tommy and Rocky went at it for a little longer, only to be interrupted by two of their friends.
"Will one of you hurry up and lose so we can get on the mats?", asked Jason
Rocky and Tommy stopped sparring and looked over at him.
"We were here first. We'll take as long as we want to." Tommy informed him
"Ok, fine, but we don't have all day.", Adam told him
Rocky gave Adam a look. "Don't worry, it won't take all day for one of us to win."
"Me.", Tommy muttered
Rocky heard it and they both started sparring again. They went at it for a few more minutes before Tommy brought Rocky down. After Tommy was done, he extended his hand to help Rocky up.
"You tried.", Tommy said
"There's always next time.", Rocky told him
Jason and Adam jumped onto the mat as soon as the others were off. Tommy and Rocky went over to the counter and sat on the stools, asking Emily for a glass of water. The sat there and chatted, not noticing the girls come in. Kat and Carri walked over and both put their arms around their boyfriends.
"Good morning.", Carri greeted
"Hey.", Rocky said as he she leaned in and gave him a kiss
"What are you girls doing here?", asked Tommy
Kat and Carri each took a seat beside their boyfriends and Alexis sat on the other side of Carri.
"Well, now that Alexis knows all about Emily we figured that it was about time for her to meet her.", Kat told him
"Emily, come here a sec!", Carri yelled across the room
Emily came to see what her friend wanted.
"Hey guys, what's up?", she greeted
"Emily, this is Alexis, the girl Carri told you about and Alexis this is Emily.", Kat said doing the introductions
Emily took the seat beside Alexis.
"Nice to meet you.", Emily said
"Same here.", said Alexis
"Look, Alexis, yesterday I kind of judged you before I met you and I shouldn't have. I also placed a lot of the blame on mine and Jason's argument on you. I'm sure your a really great person and I'd hate to get off on the wrong foot, so I'm sorry about that.", Emily apologized
"Don't worry about it. I understand, I mean people get mad sometimes and take it out on others because that's easier to do.", Alexis said
Emily smiled because she was glad that Alexis had understood.
"Jason told me about the whole rescheduling thing tonight, and I really look forward to getting a chance to talk to you.", Emily said
"Why wait until tonight, we can talk now.", Alexis said
"For a minute yes, but I'm supposed to be working.", Emily told her
Alexis nodded her head as they started to chit chat for the moment.
"Zedd, we have left those power brats alone for three days. Don't you think it's about time we do something?", asked Rita Repulsa
"That yellow ranger was so mad she wanted destroyed the whole team. Too bad humans believe in forgiveness. We could've gotten her to be evil.", Lord Zedd complained
"And how do you suppose we would've done that, asked? Besides have you forgotten about Kat? And Tommy?", Rita asked
"I will never forget about Tommy. He and I have unsettled business.", Goldar growled
"Finster!", yelled Zedd
"Yes your highness?", Finster replied as he walked into the room
"I want a monster to go down and attack the rangers.", Zedd ordered
"Right away.", Finster said as he left
"Hey Ed, I've got nothing to do, can I go with some tengas and attack the rangers while we wait for the monster?", asked Rito Revolto
Zedd's eyes flashed with anger. "How many times do I have to tell you, it's Zedd. Z E D D Zedd! And yes, you can go down, but I expect you to get those rangers so we won't even need to get a monster."
"Ok Ed.", Rito said as he teleported out
Kat, Tommy, Rocky, Carri, Alexis and Emily were still sitting on the stools talking. Adam and Jason finished sparring and they came over to them. Just as they arrived, five of them were quickly called away.
Beep Beep BeepBeep Beep Beep.
The five rangers jumped up and headed off. Alexis' instinct told her to get up, but she stopped herself.
"Where are you guys going?", asked Emily
"To give us some alone time.", Jason told her as he took the seat beside her
"Jase, that's nice of them but I really need to get going.", Emily told him
"Just one kiss?", asked Jason
"One won't hurt.", Emily said as she leaned over to kiss him
Meanwhile, the rangers had fled to their usual corner.
"We're here.", Tommy said into the communicator
"Rito and some tengas are terrorizing Angel Grove. You must teleport there immediately.", Alpha told them
"Got it. It's morphin time!", yelled Tommy
"ZEO RANGER I, PINK!"
"ZEO RANGER II, YELLOW!"
"ZEO RANGER III, BLUE!"
"ZEO RANGER IV, GREEN!"
"ZEO RANGER V, RED!"
"Long time no see. This had better be important.", Rocky greeted him
"It is. I'm going to destroy you, I think that's important.", Rito said
"I seriously doubt that.", Tommy said as the rangers jumped into another tenga fight
As usual, the rangers were winning the tenga fight. Rito had stepped aside for the moment, he was enjoying watching. In fact, he was enjoying it so much he took a few seconds and left for popcorn. He was standing there eating it when Rocky came over and kicked it out of his hands.
"Hey, that cost me a lot of money!", Rito exclaimed
"Ha! You know you stole it.", Rocky said
"So! Maybe I did! What's it to you anyway! And... hey, that hurt!", Rito yelled as Rocky kicked him in the stomach
"Maybe if you wouldn't run your mouth so much, things like that wouldn't happen.", Rocky told him
Rito came charging at Rocky with his sword and Rocky called on his Zeo Sword. They both fought alone for a while, then Tommy left the others, who had the fight well under control, and came over and joined in with his Zeo Weapon.
"Now there's two of us you have to deal with.", Tommy announced
"And you have to deal with him.", Rito said as he pointed to the monster that had just teleported onto the scene
"We'll take him.", Carri said as she motioned for Adam to join her
"I think I can handle the rest of these.", Kat said as she finished off the three or four tengas that were left
Kat quickly was done with the tengas and went to join Adam and Carri with their fight against the monster.
"You're not is tough as you think you are.", Adam told him
"Oh yeah? Watch this.", the monster said as he hurled something at them
The rangers jumped out of the way and whatever it was headed straight for Rito.
"You idiot! I'm on your side!", Rito yelled, "Some people just don't know much."
"Oh, like you?", asked Rocky as he and Tommy both kicked him in the head
Rito fell backwards and hit the ground. "I see stars. This must not be good. See ya.", he said as he left
Tommy and Rocky went over to join the monster fight.
"Now that Rito's gone, we're here to help.", Tommy told them
"Alright. Let's hurry up and finish him.", Adam said
"You'll never stop me!", yelled the monster
"What we want to do?", asked Rocky
"Let's use the Zeo Cannon.", suggested Kat
"Your Zeo Cannon doesn't scare me!", bellowed the monster
"We'll see about that.", Tommy said as he called for the Zeo Cannon
"Rito, you big idiot! You worthless piece of...", Zedd was in the middle of chewing his brother in law out when Rita stopped him
"Hey Zedd, they used the Zeo Cannon. I think our monster needs some help.", Rita told him
Zedd left Rito and went over to Rita. "You're lucky this time.", he said as he clashed staffs with Rita
"Make our monster grow!", they yelled
"And you think that'll stop us?", asked Carri
"We need Super Zeo Zord power, now!", yelled Tommy
The five Super Zeo Zords came out, the rangers jumped into them, then they combined into one.
"Alright, now you are going down.", Adam told the monster
"Am not.", the monster said in a childish tone
Rocky shrugged his shoulders. "Ok, fine, have it your way."
"Let's introduce it to the Zeo Saber.", Tommy said
"Right.", agreed the others
The five rangers called for the Zeo Saber then used it on the monster.
"Hey no fair!", the monster yelled as he went down
"Come on, let's get back to the Youth Center.", Kat said as they all nodded their heads yes and teleported out
"Well?", Jason asked as they approached him and Alexis
"Easy. You know, I'm ready to start asking for a challenge.", Tommy told him
"You don't really want to ask for one, then they might come through.", Rocky pointed out
"True.", Adam agreed
"So, we have a few hours to kill before we have anything planned, anybody got anything to do in mind?", asked Alexis
"I've promised Cody I'd work for him from one to four.", Rocky told them
"Why don't we go shopping?", Kat suggested
"That sounds like fun.", Alexis said as she hopped up
"Spending spree!", Carri exclaimed
"Something I'll skip.", Jason said
"Me too.", Adam agreed
"And what do you know, I don't think I'm going either.", Tommy told them
"So, are you a heavy or light shopper?", questioned Carri
"Light. Why?", asked Alexis
"I think I'm going to have to go to Florida and shop with Kim. She's the only person I know who keeps up with me in that category.", Carri said
Kat gave her a look. "We like keeping our money."
Carri just shrugged her shoulders as the three of them took off.
After they left, Rocky headed for the door. "I'm off to work. Talk to you later."
"Bye Rocky.", Tommy called behind him
"What do we want to do?", Jason asked after they left
Adam and Tommy glanced over at the mats.
"Sure, why not.", Jason said
"Don't you guys ever get board of that?", asked Emily as she went behind the counter
"Board? Of sparring? Never.", Jason told her
"You need lives.", Emily told them
Jason looked shocked. "Who, us?"
"I don't see any other three guys who don't do anything all day.", Emily said as she came out from behind the counter with sodas in her hands
"Don't do anything?", Tommy questioned
"Why don't you go outside, play ball, do something besides hang around here.", Emily said
"Then I couldn't watch you.", Jason told her
Emily smiled. "In that case, spar all you want."
The three boys laughed as they headed over to the mats, where they would stay for the next hour or so before leaving for the basketball court with some of their other friends.
"You guys wanted to go to the bowling alley?", Kat questioned as the group of eight headed in
"Why not. Besides, it just opened and we figured because was something we have never done that we might as well do it.", Tommy told her
"I hope I'm not the only one who's going to make a complete and total fool out of myself tonight.", Alexis said
The other three girls exchanged looks. "I don't see that as a problem.", Carri told her
Jason turned to Rocky and Adam. "You two take care of the pizza, Tommy and I will grab two lanes."
"Gotcha.", Rocky said as he and Adam headed back to the food counter
"We are going to suck.", Emily said to the girls
"Ding ding ding.", Carri agreed
"Do I get a prize for being right?", asked Emily
"You get to be in the negatives like the rest of us.", Alexis told her
"Negatives? Is that even possible?", asked Kat
"With me it is.", said Alexis
Jason and Tommy came back with shoes in their hands.
"Get yours at the counter.", Tommy told them
The girls looked at the shoes, which were obviously not a pair because one shoe was two colors and the other shoe was a different two colors.
"Fashionable.", commented Carri
Adam and Rocky came up to the group.
"Dinner will be served in thirty to forty five minutes.", Adam told them
"Great. Grab some shoes, let's get going.", Jason said
After everybody grabbed their shoes, they went to the two lanes that the boys had gotten.
"How do we want to split up?", asked Alexis
"How about girls against boys?", suggested Rocky
"I really don't see that happening.", Kat told him
"Why not?", asked Tommy
"Our zeros across the board to your decent scores, I think not.", Emily said
"Ok, fine. How about me, Emily, Alexis and Adam against the rest of you.", Jason suggested
"Sounds fair.", Carri said
Jason and his team took the left lane while the other four took the right. As soon as they had their shoes on, they went ball hunting. The boys went straight for the heaver balls, while the girls went for the lightest ones.
"No fair, our hands can't fit in the six or eight pounders!", exclaimed Alexis
"Six, eight, ten, doesn't really matter we are still going to suck.", Carri reminded them as they picked up their ten pound balls
Everybody walked back to their lanes. Rocky sat down and put everyone's names in for both sides.
"Tommy and Jason, you're first.", Rocky told them
"Watch this.", Tommy said as he went before Jason
Tommy's ball knocked over nine pins, leaving him only one for the spare.
"Not bad. But I can do better.", Jason told him
Jason only managed to knock over eight, but it didn't matter since both of them got spares.
Rocky and Adam were the next two from their teams to go, and just like their predecessors they came up with spares of their own. Then both teams had come to the girls. Carri and Emily were the two who were up, with Carri going first.
"Ok guys, don't laugh.", Carri ordered
Carri threw the ball and it started out in the middle, but it slowly moved its way over to the gutter.
"No, don't stay...ug!", Carri ended by stomping her foot down and a buzzer was heard, causing her to jump back
"What was that?", she asked
"You stepped over the line.", Rocky told her
"Which means?", she asked
"Foul.", Jason filled in
"That's not a foul. A true foul is when the ball... oh never mind. I can already tell my bowling skills suck.", Carri said as she headed back to her seat
Emily got up to take her turn. She threw the ball and it went straight for the gutter.
"At least yours stayed on the lane for a good amount of time.", Emily told her as she went to sit down
Kat and Alexis got up but were stopped by Tommy and Jason.
"What?", asked Kat
"They get one more shot.", Tommy told her
"We do? Won't the computer just put up our zeros and get it over with?", asked Emily
"You have to earn them.", Jason informed her
Carri and Emily got up once again to take another shot at it.
"Here goes nothing.", Carri said as once again she threw the ball down the lane, and once again she it found the gutter
Carri came back to sit down.
"Carri, stick to baseball.", Adam said
"You don't have to tell me twice.", she replied
Emily went up and threw the ball, watched it go into the gutter.
"Yes! I am living up to my true abilities.", Emily exclaimed as she went back to sit down
Kat and Alexis finally got to take their turns.
"Come on Kat, show them how much better you are.", encouraged Tommy
"I'll try.", Kat said
Kat went first, and her ball went down riding beside the gutter the whole time. Before falling over, it hit one of the back pins.
"I hit a pin! I don't believe it!", she exclaimed
"Way to go Kat.", congratulated Alexis, "Now watch me suck."
Alexis threw the ball and got the same result as Emily and Carri.
"You can't say I didn't try.", Alexis said
Kat retrieved her ball and went back for a second try at it. This time she knocked over the other opposite pin.
"Two pins! I'm on a roll!", she exclaimed
"Kat, I hate to be the one to break this to you but it's probably best if you hear it from me. The point of bowling is to knock over all ten pins.", Tommy told her
"That's the way you bowl. With my skills, the point is to knock over a pin per frame.", Kat informed him
Kat sat down as Alexis got up and took her turn. Alexis was able to knock over an end pin.
"Well what do you know.", Alexis said as she sat down
Everyone kept on going in the same order until their first game was over. About as soon as the game ended, their pizza was ready and the boys went to get it and the drinks. They all sat back down at one of the tables, taking a break for dinner.
Emily and Carri, who were sitting by each other, looked up and just shook their heads at the scores. The team scores were about even thanks to the boys, but the girls scores were not. Kat ended up with 50, Alexis with 46, and then Carri and Emily tied with a score of 12.
"We suck.", Carri said
"Completely and totally.", Emily agreed
"You know I could teach you the form.", Rocky suggested
"And I'll teach you.", Jason said to Emily
"Like that will help.", said Carri
"She has a point.", Adam said
"I can't believe I did so well.", Alexis said
"Me neither. I was expecting to be down with Emily and Carri.", agreed Kat
"And then the boys had their scores in the low to mid hundreds.", Alexis said
"How did you guys get so good at bowling?", asked Emily
"We're guys. We can do anything.", Tommy bragged
"Very funny.", said Carri
"No, Tommy's right, it's this whole guy thing.", Rocky told her
"That and we went out and practiced this morning.", added Jason
"Practice. Something we needed desperately.", Emily pointed out
"Come on, as soon as we get back to bowling, me and Jason will help you two out.", Rocky assured them
"Rocky man, you guys can't work miracles.", Adam told him
"And that's exactly what we need.", Emily said
They quickly finished eating, and got back to the bowling. The bowled two more games before they were finished. Kat and Alexis' scores made it into the 80's, while, with the help of their boyfriends, Emily and Carri were able to slowly creep into the 30's.
"Well, you've made progress. I'm impressed.", Rocky said of Carri's last score, a 38
"I'll have to say the same about you.", Jason said about Emily's 35
"This was definitely a new experience.", said Alexis
"Yes, throwing a ball and trying to knock over all ten pins is a new thing for me too.", agreed Kat
"So, what do you guys want to do now?", asked Tommy as they headed up to pay for the bowling
"There's some ice hockey tables in the game room. I'm going back there if anybody wants to join me.", Carri said
"How good are you?", asked Rocky
"I'm not bad. But I'm not half as good as some other people I know. Actually as one other person I know.", Carri told him
Rocky knew exactly who she was talking about. "Me neither. So we're an even match. Count me in."
"What do you say?", asked Tommy
"Why not. But I'm warning you, I'm haven't played in a long time.", Kat said
Tommy smiled. "Me neither. But that's ok, because that just makes us even."
"Are you guys going to join us?", asked Kat
The remaining four looked at each other.
"No, I don't think so.", said Jason
"Ok, we'll talk to you later.", Tommy said as the four of them finished paying and headed off
"It's still early, do you want to go somewhere else?", asked Alexis
"Sure. Where do you want to go?", asked Adam
"I don't care.", Emily said
"Me neither.", agreed Alexis
"How about we go see what's going on at Ernie's and then we'll take it from there.", suggested Jason
"Ok, sounds good.", Adam said
The girls nodded their heads in agreement as the four headed off to the parking lot.
Kat, Carri, Rocky, Tommy and Jason were all sitting in their last class of the day, chemistry, along with Alexis, who was tagging along with Kat that day with permission from Mr. Caplan.
"Now class, before you leave you can come up and get your tests from Friday. I am pleased to say that the majority of you did well.", Mrs. Appleby said as she held up the tests and then set them down at the table
Bring!
"Time to go see how we did.", Jason said as the five of them headed to get their tests
When they got up there the whole class was standing around trying to get their test scores. Carri was the first one to grab her paper, and she was quickly followed by the others.
Carri's jaw dropped as she saw her grade. "Is this my real grade?", she asked Mrs. Appleby
Mrs. Appleby just smiled and nodded her head yes.
"What is it?", asked Kat
"An A, a 93.", she said proudly
"Nice. But one more point lower and it would've been a 92, and a B.", Tommy pointed out
"Yes but an A sounds so much nicer than a B.", Carri said as she smiled over her first A all year. Not that her grades were bad in there, she usually scored in the 80's, but she could never manage an A.
The gang of six walked out of the classroom, meeting Adam as they stepped out.
"Ok, tell me, how much more do I know about acids and bases than the rest of you.", demanded Carri
"Not much. 90.", Jason told her
"82.", Tommy said
Rocky, who was walking behind her along with Adam, handed her his paper.
"80, not bad.", Carri said as she gave it back
"86.", Kat told them
"I beat half of you with my 88.", Adam announced proudly
"Well, I'm happy, this secures my B.", Carri said
"Mine too.", agreed Kat
"I'll probably end up with a high B.", Jason said
"A C for me.", Rocky said
"I believe I may be with you on that one. But then again, I could have a B.", Tommy said thoughtfully
"I have a B in physics, if anybody cares.", Alexis said
"Physics, not my science field. Although Billy was good at it, and he said if I ever wanted to take it he'd help me. But then again I wouldn't have understood him.", Jason said
"So, who's going with me to the airport?", asked Alexis
"I'd love to, but I have a meeting of the Senior Prom Committee that I have to be at in... five minutes. I've got to go, I'll see you guys later.", Kat said
"Well, it was nice meeting you.", Alexis said
"Same here. I'm glad you stayed at our house. If you're ever in town again, don't forget to stop by.", Kat said as she gave her new friend a hug
"See you later Kat.", Tommy said
Kat walked over to Tommy and gave him a quick kiss before leaving.
"See ya.", she said as she walked off
"I think that the rest of us are coming.", Adam said
"Everyone but Emily. She says to tell you she'd love to come, but she's going to be working this afternoon.", Jason told her
"That's fine. Tell her I said bye though.", Alexis ordered
"No problem.", agreed Jason
"Well, we had better head to the airport, the flight leaves in a little more than an hour, and I have to return my rental car.", Alexis said
The others nodded their heads in agreement as they headed off to their cars.
"Well, thanks Carri for letting me stay at your place for a few days.", Alexis said as they stood in the airport
"No problem. Anytime.", she told her
"And boys, it was great to see you again. You guys pretty much the same as I remember you. And that's good, you're a great group, stay that way.", Alexis said as she gave them all hugs
"Last call for flight 401 to Philadelphia.", said a voice
"That's me. Bye guys.", she said as she waved and walked off
"Bye!", yelled the chorus of voices behind her
Alexis went up and gave the lady her ticket, then she boarded the plane and took a seat.
Well, I finally made it back to Angel Grove. And I tied up all my lose ends, with the Power Rangers, with Jason. Now maybe I can date a guy without wondering about Jason. One day I'll tell him how I felt, but no time soon. And I made three new friends in Angel Grove, and that's always a plus. All in all, I'd say the trip was a success. And now it's time to get back to Phillie, with Denise, and Jonny, back to helping out and doing what I do best.
Alexis smiled as she closed her eyes to try to sneak in a nap before she got back to Phillie as the plane took off.
